This piece was recently made in 2025 and features Jake’s go to white stoneware clay and the cobalt stain mixed with porcelain clay under Yellow Salt glaze. This exceptional comb pattern has produced what amounts to beautiful abstract painting. Cobalt mixed with the Yellow Salt glaze takes on a blue/black hue on the gestural marking. It is 11″ across and 1.5 ” high, and weighs 3 lbs. You can see Jake making clay work on the potter’s wheel in his studio on his instagram account @ vanwijkgraphics
