The Red Curtain -lithograph

A 4 color lithograph from stone, printed in 2015 and also 11″ by 15″. It takes it visual design and spacial cues from the work of Clyford Still, who, like Picasso, followed a pattern of extensive figurative work to completely abstract and floating, large scale imagery. It’s the transitional work he did in the 50s and 60s that interested me and this piece best captures this period in Still’s work. The other print that carries this feeling, but uses more gestural passages on a larger scale is The Golden Line.
