The piece was produced in 2014, weighs 4 lbs and is 11″ tall and 7″ across at its widest part. It is made with white stoneware clay and over sprayed in Church Lady White glaze with iron oxide stain. The stain is scribed with random gestural and calligraphic marks. it is an unusual shape and one of only a few shapes made by J. Van Wyk out of the thousands he has produced over the past 50 years.
