Golden Line
,
Printed in 2013, the Golden Line is a full sheet 22″ by 30″ print and was printed for the Angel/Beast exhibit of 2013 at Dordt College. It is a true expression of psychic automatism and the red printer forms the key image in black for the Homage to Clyfford Still mono-print series, also completed at the same time. The image relates to the transitional abstract work by Clyfford Still, after his Picasso like figures and before he made large and spare, purely abstract image, often floating in massive spaces. It was printed on Arches white stock in an edition of 14 prints. The lithograph, Spiral, also is an homage to Still and is actually closer to the artist’s transitional compositions. You can see a color sequence in the multi-color print, Focus, on Jake’s instagram account @ vanwijkgraphics
